Legic demos multi-application contactless platform and new combo payWave offering

Visa Inc. and Intel Corporation have announced a multi-device, multi-year agreement to develop mobile commerce solutions for Intel’s smart phones and tablets.

During a press conference at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the companies outlined plans to bring Visa payWave NFC payments to Intel Atom-based smart phones and tablets, including the Intel Smartphone Reference Device, as well a provide mobile financial services to customers in developed and developing countries worldwide.

Romanian bank BRD, a unit of Société Générale, has selected Oberthur Technologies to supply multi-application payment cards. These cards have payment scheme applications, as well as the ability to host transport, access control, PKI or biometric apps.

Shenzhen Chuangtong Intelligence Equipment, a Chinese company focusing on the manufacturing of contactless parking solutions and integrated identification systems, will leverage LEGIC based products for access control installations, especially for car parks.

LEGIC Identsystems Ltd expanded its partner network in Southern Europe with the announcement of a joint venture with Spain-based security company Softmachine Systems.
