Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. Inc., a provider of imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, and ActivIdentity Corp., a provider of strong authentication and credential management, announced that they have co-developed a Personal Identification Verification-Compliant Card System that increases security and document control for customers using multifunctional products, such as print, copy, fax, and scan all in one system.

The ActivIdentity ActivClient security software is available to U.S. Department of Defense customers - as well as customers of other government agencies - using Konica Minolta multifunctional products. The PIV-Compliant Card System can be used in conjunction with the Common Access Card, as well as the next generation CAC, a PIV-Compliant Identification Card. [end] 

Konica Minolta and HID Global announced Konica Minolta’s new membership in the Advantage HID Connect Partner Program to advance secure print authentication solutions.

Backed by HID proximity and iCLASS technology access control cards, PIV and common access cards, Konica Minolta can now offer customers the added feature of using physical access cards for secure print authentication from their bizhub multifunctional products – print, copy, fax and scan all in one system.

The Dutch Ministry of Defense (MoD) has chosen Identive’s SmartFold smart card readers to provide secure remote network access for its employees.

The agency has a lot of restricted and sensitive data that has particular management requirements. The MoD felt that the Identive contact smart card reader would provide the desired level of security, yet be flexible enough to incorporate into the existing network security infrastructure.
