Smart cards may enable fat Xbox avatars

Microsoft Corp. filed a patent that would enable an individual’s Xbox Live avatar to have a greater resemble to their real life physique, according to the El Paso Video Game Examiner.

The system would gather information from a health ID smart card or other device to match the avatar to the real person. Microsoft hopes the system will encourage individuals to work out more if the avatar is also overweight.

SimplexGrinnell and GuardRFID have executed a distribution agreement that formally provides SimplexGrinnell access to GuardRFID’s products and solutions.
