Gemalto integrates with Microsoft ID manager

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Gemalto announced that
its Protiva Strong Authentication Server is now fully integrated with Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager 2010. With the combined solution, organizations can provision, deploy and manage smart card-based one-time password devices linked to Gemalto strong authentication server, while using the same Microsoft interface to which they are already accustomed.

Gemalto will be demonstrating the combined solution at the RSA Conference 2010 in the Microsoft Partner Pavilion, booth #1527, and at Gemalto booth #1923.

The integrated solution enables security managers that work with Microsoft identity solutions to implement and manage OTP devices without learning a new interface. They use the Forefront Identity Manager portal interface for all of the administrative functions for managing OTP devices, while the Gemalto strong authentication server (SAS) works in the background for authentication.

Managers can create or update a Gemalto SAS OTP device record, link the record to the user, and activate the device easily. They can then manage or change access privileges or remove devices using the same Microsoft FIM interface. [end]

Gemalto has announced that its “Allynis” Trusted Service Manager (TSM) solution has been selected to securely manage transactions on the Isis mobile commerce platform.

Isis, the mobile commerce joint venture between Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, will enable U.S. customers to pay, present loyalty cards, and redeem coupons all with a tap of their NFC-enabled phones. According to Sébastien Cano, seniro vice president at Gemalto North America, the TSM solution will enable Isis to securely deliver mobile payments along with a host of NFC services, including access control and mass transit in addition to couponing and loyalty.
