VeriSign finalizes acquisition of TrustBearer

After year long collaboration, VeriSign announced the completion of the acquisition of TrustBearer Labs LLC.

Known for providing strong authentication solutions for online applications, TrustBearer assets will help VeriSign reach a broader presence on various Web browsers and platforms.


The online authentication features provide security and identity protections for both the consumers, employees and business partners.

Additionally VeriSign’s Managed PKI (MPKI) product is the authentication solution TrustBearer has been a part of developing already in the past year. VeriSign representatives have mentioned embedding TrustBearer technology in the future VeriSign models. [end] 

DigitalPersona announced the release of a new version of its Pro Enterprise software solution, version 5.2.

Among the aspects of the new version DigitalPersona is touting are the extensive number of factors a company utilizing the solution can use to authenticate for access to sensitive information or secured computer stations. These factors include what a user knows, such as PINs or passwords, things you have, such as smart cards, contactless identity cards or Bluetooth devices, and things you are, such as fingerprints.

VeriFone Systems has completed its acquisition of Point, Northern Europe’s largest provider of payment and gateway services and solutions for retailers.

According to VeriFone, Stockholm-based Point has operations in 11 European countries and serves a network encompassing nearly 475,000 merchant contracts. Through this network, Point offers retailers a range of multi-channel services and solutions, including point-of-sale technology and support, gateway services, card encryption services, and e-commerce processing.
