DIGIPASS for Mobile shows face at MEFTEC

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

DIGPASS for Mobile, the latest solution from VASCO Data Security, will be showcased at MEFTEC in Bahrain, April 20 - 21. The mobile security solution uses a two factor authentication feature on smart phones to deliver secure e-banking, m-banking, phone banking using IVR and cash retrieval at the ATM.

With more and more man-in-the-middle attacks and fraudulent activity in e-banking and m-banking, banks have focused on providing customers with one-time password and digital signature components when accessing accounts and completing transactions. These security options create another level of authentication that can operate on a mobile phone.

Additionally, the DIGIPASS for Mobile is compatible with Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technology which uses voice recognition as authentication for access to the mobile banking system. For ATM retrieval, the DIGIPASS for Mobile models its OTP validation after the traditional but less secure PIN validations. Instead, the customer will activate the authentication application on his phone using a PIN-code. On PIN-insertion an OTP will be created that the user will then type on the ATM keyboard.

DIGIPASS for supports more than 400 types of mobile phones and operates on Java phones, Blackberry, iPhone and Windows Mobile. [end]
