Sagem Orga do Brasil taps CardInk to deliver data protection solution

Thursday, May 6, 2010

Cryptomathic data protection solution, CardInk, has been selected by Sagem Orga do Brasil smart card manufacturer to deliver secure EMV debit and credit cards.

As the second generation of EMV data preparation system for single and multiple application cards, CardInk works to issue MULTOS cards. This addresses the growing need for deploying multiple-application cards to end-users in the secure banking community.

The CardInk solution creates cryptographic data that will guarantee data is prepared and keys are managed in a highly secure environment throughout the card issuing process. Among the cards already adopting Sagem Orga do Brasil technology are MasterCard and Visa. Sagem Orga do Brasil will use CardInk to produce payment application data.

CardInk is both Hardware Security Module (HSM) vendor and card platform independent. [end]
