IronKey will provide UK-based Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with IronKey Enterprise to secure and protect active patient records.
There are strict UK regulations covering medical record protection and stiff fines for anyone who suffers a data breach. With IronKey Enterprise, consultants, midwives, nurses and information analysts can carry sensitive data without risking violating the UK Data Protection Act or the Department of Health’s Information Governance Toolkit if a device is lost or stolen.
By deploying IronKey Enterprise even if a device is stolen, NHS Trust could track and record the IronKey before remotely destroying all data held on the device and even the IronKey itself.
In addition, it also allows them to manage IronKey Enterprise devices and enforce device-specific policies, including password strength, password retry limits and on-board portable applications.
