Thursby Software Systems released PKard for Mac software to meet the needs of U.S. Department of Defense Apple users for remote or home access to secure government web sites using Common Access Cards.
PKard is a home/remote version of Thursbys enterprise ADmitMac public key infrastructure line of software that secures directly connected Macs in bases and offices of the US Army and many branches of the U.S. government. All Common Access Cards are supported via Thursby’s Tokend driver technology for access, including next generation cards such as the Oberthur ID One 128 v5.5 and Gemalto TOP DL GX4 144K.
Features include support for commercial grade Microsoft SMB/CIFS, DFS, Active Directory, Group Policies, Mac Workgroup Manager, SSO/single sign-on, network home folders, all CAC and PIV cards, OCSP and VPN that are not required for home/remote web access.

Clarification - Thursby has two products that address this market.
(1) PKard for Mac for home/remote access to secure websites with CAC Paragraphs 1,2 and 4 describe correctly this $29.95 product.
(2) ADmitMac PKI for direct Mac connection to US military or Federal sites with CAC or PIV cards and many additional features.
Paragraph 3 actually refers to the professional ADmitMac PKI product which is typically bought by agencies or departments/units within them rather than being a mass market item geared to individuals.
