idOnDemand releases new issuance model

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

idOnDemand announced availability of its Onsite Card Issuance feature. The service extends idOnDemand’s cloud solution enabling customers to issue fully compliant and globally trusted identity cards on their premises with minimal investment.

The new feature is aimed at organizations that require immediate onsite production of credentials, as well as for remote offices to produce and deliver identity cards on the organization’s behalf. The only additional cost is for a local issuance printer with an idOnDemand production encoder. The actual smart identity infrastructure is securely hosted and maintained by idOnDemand.

idOnDemand’s Onsite Card Issuance feature may work for organizations after a merger or acquisition to quickly issue secure employee badges that display their new look and security requirements, or after a new corporate identity is established, such as a name change or new logo.

By leveraging idOnDemand’s Onsite Card Issuance or full-time card production bureau service, organizations can simplify card production environment while reducing the need for large stock levels and significant investment in high capacity printers.

idOnDemand SmartID meets a range of government and enterprise standards and enables users to access and protect buildings, IT systems and mobile resources with a single identification card. idOnDemand SmartIDs can be issued to different security levels including government standards for PIV as specified in FIPS 201. [end]

idOnDemand and Fuji Xerox Australia have created an partnership that’s resulted in a single credential that enables both building entry and secure printing.

Fuji Xerox incorporated idOnDemand’s TouchSecure identity readers into its multifunction devices (MFD) to enable these capabilities. Users may now use their building IDs for copy and printing services. The MFDs are able to track the amount of printing done, which lets businesses control and track expenses, reduce waste and protect data in a shared environment.
