BNC protects customers from cyber thieves with IronKey Trusted Access

Monday, April 11, 2011

Bank of North Carolina is now offering IronKey Trusted Access for Banking to help keep its business clients safe while banking online. With Trust Access, BNC provides customers an online banking experience isolated from financial malware, including key loggers, man-in-the-middle attacks and DNS attacks.

Following recommendations of the National Automated Clearinghouse Association and the FBI, Trusted Access separates users and their banking sessions from their potentially compromised desktop and applications.

With Trusted Access for Banking, users connect their Trusted Access USB device to automatically launch a protected, virtualized environment. The Trusted Access Browser starts at the bank-defined home page and users can only navigate to bank authorized sites.

A secure, encrypted connection to online banking is made through the IronKey Trusted Network to lock out man-in-the-middle and DNS attack. Advanced encrypted keyboard input protects users from key loggers while entering authentication credentials and other sensitive data.

“The problem facing banks today has been out of their control – it’s the customer’s own PC. What makes these threats so dangerous is they go undetected even with up-to-date anti-virus software, firewalls and other software-based security,” said Dave Jevans, IronKey founder and chairman. [end]

IronKey has revamped its Trusted Access service for enterprise IT management. Called Enterprise Service, organizations can now use Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and cloud applications to reduce or eliminate the endpoints and supporting infrastructure enterprises must have, as well as lowering operations and maintenance expenses.
