PhoneFactor, Right Networks join to secure cloud-based accounting apps

Friday, June 3, 2011

PhoneFactor and Right Networks have teamed together to offer an additional layer of strong authentication for its customers accessing cloud applications and data. Right Networks is a hosting provider of small business accounting applications.

This new alliance gives Right Networks customers the option to enhance the protected access to their applications and data with phone-based multi-factor authentication. Users log in just as they normally would - by entering a username and password - at which point their phone rings. They answer and press the pound sign (#), and access immediately granted to the user.

If a user suspects an attacker is attempting to log in, he/she can block access by answering the phone and press 911#. This will also alert Right Networks personnel that an unauthorized access has been tried, and enables the appropriate countermeasures to commence.

Following recent attacks on some of the most secure networks in the world, PhoneFactor will host a live webcast to address concerns and provide practical advice regarding good authentication practices.

The live webcast will be presented by PhoneFactor CTO Steve Dispensa. Registration for is available now, and more information can be found here[end]
