VASCO Data Security International Inc. announced the release of its latest smart card reader. DIGIPASS 836 comes with an optical interface and replaceable batteries and is designed to create a trusted environment for transactions.
Data from the PC display automatically downloads onto the DIGIPASS 836 via the optical interface, eliminating the need for additional software or drivers.
For Internet banking security, DIGIPASS 836’s e-signature solution identifies transaction types and their transaction field labels with a contextual challenge/starting code. Using this code, a transaction can be approved as it’s displayed on the card reader. Other design features allow for magnifying the end-use, OTP and e-signature codes for better readability.
DIGIPASS 836 also adds strong authentication to retail banking channels with functions including one-time password and electronic signature with EMV, PIN-less authentication and German HHD 1.4.
