Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Spanish security software solution developer Safelayer Secure Communications will be expanding its presence in Latin America with an agreement to provide digital certification and PKI products to help build digital identification infrastructures in Uruguay and Paraguay.

The project, backed by MERCOSUR Digital and awarded to Safelayer partners ISA Ltda and Bull Uruguay S.A., intends to develop e-commerce between MERCOSUR countries and the EU. Safelayer will work with ISA Ltda, a digital signature and electronic document management company to develop this infrastructure. Bull Uruguay will implement the project. Hardware solution company PS Line will also be one of the providers on the project.

Safelayer will contribute to two aspects of the project, providing both the latest generation of PKI security solutions, as well as digital certificates for certification authority implementation.

Work on this project will begin this year and are expected to wrap up in 2012. [end]
