Konami adds DIGIPASS security for online shopping, games

Konami Digital Entertainment Co. has chosen VASCO Data Security International’s DIGIPASS technology to increase security for its online gaming and shopping services.

Cybercriminals have begun hacking into e-commerce and online gaming platforms to intercept payment transactions or steal gaming credits and goods for resale.

To combat this, Konami added VASCO’s VACMAN Controller authentication back-end software as well as the DIGIPASS technology. This combination gives customers secure login options for their accounts, including the DIGIPASS GO 6 one-button authenticator.

The new services intend to protect Konami’s customers from keyloggers and identity thieves, while preserving the quality of the online gaming experience. [end]

The U.S. Social Security Administration contracted with Experian to add fraud prevention services for secure authentication to access the new online Social Security Statement.

The new online Social Security Statement provides Social Security earnings and benefit information, as well as estimates to help people plan for retirement. It also gives estimates for disability and survivors benefits. With the online statement, users can see whether their earnings are accurately posted to their Social Security records.

This reader combines the functionality of one-time passwords and electronic signatures to fend off man-in-the-middle attacks on financial organizations using an EMV infrastructure.
