Portugal's largest ISP opts for Yubico authentication

SAPO, Portugal’s largest Internet Service Provider and Web portal, has selected Yubico’s YubiKey two-factor authentication hardware to ensure login security for its employees and end users.

Internally, SAPO has deployed Yubico’s YubiKey hardware authentication token for two-factor access to its intranet. With it, SAPO employees can use unprotected equipment or networks to connect to internal web applications and data.


Through this partnership, SAPO is also educating its end users in best security practices, including the need for two-factor authentication with YubiKey. [end] 

Yubico has announced the launch of YubiKey NEO, an NFC-enabled version of its YubiKey USB authentication token for single tap mobile security.

The device, which fits on a keychain and includes NFC contactless technology as well as a USB interface, can be read by an NFC-enabled smart phone or tablet straight out of the box to deliver a securely encrypted one-time password (OTP).
