DigitalPersona's Pro Enterprise enables "mix and match" authentication

DigitalPersona released a new version of its Pro Enterprise authentication device. It now contains the ability to support a number of new authentication credentials, enabling organizations to mix and match the ways in which employees securely identify themselves to Microsoft Windows and other applications.

Pro Enterprise can work with PINs, passwords, smart cards, biometrics, contactless proximity cards and Bluetooth phones. 

New player enters Indian two-factor authentication market

The Indian start-up ArrayShield Technologies has entered the two-factor authentication market in India and is looking for value-added resellers, managed service providers and system integrators to help it become a player in this field, which it estimates to be nearly Rs 2 billion.

As reported in Computer Reseller News, in December, the company launched its first product IDAS, a patented secure token-based system. It plans to release more products in the second half of this year. 

Dutch Ministry of Defense opts for Identive security

The Dutch Ministry of Defense (MoD) has chosen Identive’s SmartFold smart card readers to provide secure remote network access for its employees.

The agency has a lot of restricted and sensitive data that has particular management requirements. The MoD felt that the Identive contact smart card reader would provide the desired level of security, yet be flexible enough to incorporate into the existing network security infrastructure.

Echoworx opens up access to cloud-based encryption

Atlanta-based Echoworx, a credential management and managed encryption service provider, has opened up its Security Cloud to the industry at large, including MDMs, MEAPs, cloud services and other organization. By plugging into the cloud, they can enable PKI integration across multiple platforms and devices.

Security Cloud provides a plug-and-play approach to credential management, enabling companies the ability to forego in-house PKI management for individual credentials and encryption.

Online identity protection provider Yubico and cloud server security provider CloudPassage have teamed up to provide authentication services for administrative network access in the cloud.

The partnership came about because CloudPassaged needed to provide a two-factor authentication mechanism on its Halo platform in order to protect server access in a public cloud environment. After evaluating many products, it chose Yubico’s YubiKey OTP USB key for authentication in Halo GhostPorts.
