Infineon Security supplies security chips for Google Chromebooks' Web-based apps

Infineon Technologies announced it’s shipping Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chips that are compatible with devices running the Google Chrome OS.

The security architecture of Google Chromebooks relies on the TPM chip to provide substantial protection against malware. TPM chips also support built-in functions that build on the security architecture in the hardware-backed features.

HID Global receives certification

CertiPath announced that HID Global has completed cross-certification to the PIV-I standard via the CertiPath Bridge.

With the certification for PIV-I, HID Global plans to launch its PIV-I Service – an online offering that aims to reduce the time and complexity required for contractors to obtain employee credentials, which comply with PIV-I requirements. The certified PIV-I Service offering will be managed by HID Global’s identity assurance business, ActivIdentity.

The members of Vermont’s Northern Lights Federal Credit Union will have added browser security due to the credit union’s implementation of IronKey’s Trusted Access for Banking, a secure browsing solution designed to prevent identity theft, payments fraud and online banking account takeover.

Trusted Access for Banking provides a secure online banking experience through a dedicated, isolated secure browser environment. It also features Trusted Bookmarks, a safe Web browsing service. With this feature, Northern Lights can manage a “white list” of popular transaction-based websites that members can safely access through this detached secure browsing environment. 

Lumidigm extends solution to Windows OS

Lumidigm has announced it has ported its Mariner line of multispectral fingerprint readers to be compatible with computers running on Microsoft’s Windows operating system.

Beyond the multispectral aspect of the sensors, which is capable of reading subsurface aspects of a fingerprint for more accurate authentication and functionality in otherwise poor environments, Lumidigm is touting the reader’s durability and reliability pushing it as a perfect solution for a large number of industries including construction, health care and heavy industry. 

Radiant Logic launches cloud-based identity products

Virtual directory solutions provider Radiant Logic is releasing two cloud-based identity products at this week’s Gartner Catalyst Conference in San Diego.

The new offerings are the RadiantOne Cloud Federation Service (CFS) and the RadiantOne Virtual Directory Server Plus (VDS+). The products are intended to be deployed together to virtualize enterprise-wide identity service that supports cloud single sign-on and secure connections to cloud-based applications using federation architectures.
