In response to customer demand for an alternative to authentication product, Lieberman Software Corporation has teamed with Yubico to offer an enhanced multi-factor authentication token.

Lieberman, an identity management and security management provider for government and commercial enterprises, added native support for Yubico’s YubiKey token in its Enterprise Random Password Manager and Random Password Manager products. The waterproof, battery-free USB token provides one-time authentication through either the OATH standard or its proprietary 128-bit AES encrypted key/token code generator.

Microsoft’s FIM product automates the identification lifecycle process. Its features that make it stand out from its competitors are a self-service Web portal and a compatibility with existing Web standards that allows it to function with many other systems.

California-based Confident Technologies has released a new two-factor authentication platform for mobile phone out-of band authentication.

The patent-pending product called Confident Multifactor Authentication offers a smart phone-based secure image-based second factor in the authentication process that is not connected to or stored on the device. 

NagraID has been in the payment card space for more than five years producing display cards that consumers can use for an extra layer of security when making purchases, says Don Malloy, business development manager at the company. The cards, which can be EMV enabled, have a display that shows a one-time passcode that can be used when making purchases.

The card manufacturer also has a newer product that has the cardholder enter a PIN that produces a one-time passcode that is used as an extra security factor when performing a transaction. The display can also show a cardholder the balance on an account.  

Cloud identity management software developer UnboundID released a beta version of its software development toolkit for the Simple Cloud Identity Management (SCIM) initiative.

Launched at this week’s Cloud Identity Summit in Keystone, Colo., the free, downloadable toolkit was developed by UnboundID Labs, UnboundID’s research and development division. 

BIO-key International has announced that it has deployed a fingerprint-based solution for Summa Health System, an Ohio-based integrated health care delivery system that includes hospitals, health centers, health plans and a physician-hospital organization.

The new solution, which complies with the Ohio Pharmacy Board two-factor authentication requirements, is replacing an older system that utilized hardware and software from fellow biometric developer L-1 Identity Solutions, however will continue to utilize the L-1 Identix fingerprint readers with BIO-key’s software.  

Biometric Signature ID (BSI), a developer of gesture-based biometric solutions, has announced it has been awarded a second patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on its multi-factor gesture biometric technology used for identification authentication.

The solution, called BioSig-ID, authenticates an individual’s identity via unique movements of a mouse, interactions with a touch screen, finger or other body movement capturing speed, length, height, angles and direction of writing letter, or shapes.

BSI is targeting its solution as a fit for health care, banking, online learning, cloud and mobile computing and government.
